Our people – Bidvest Protea Coin employ approximately 24,000 personnel who are deployed across all market sectors. It is critical for us to correctly profile the right individual for the right job. We ensure that the candidate can speak read and write as well as have the ability to think logically, is a South African citizen and has a legitimate PSIRA qualification. Once these pre-checks have been done, then only do we embark on fingerprints, criminal checks, and reference checks, before any offer of employment is made.
Our People – Our SASSETA-accredited and highly acclaimed training Academy, Gijima, is situated north of Pretoria and is fully equipped with classroom facilities, registered, and accredited trainers and material, accommodation, catering, and laundering. Our Academy can accommodate 400 learners at any given time.
Several specialised training courses, both theory and practical take place at this facility, including NKP, reaction unit/crowd control, and K9 training, to name a few. Induction, soft skills, health and safety, technical skills and advanced management training are also provided at Gijima.
